Day Trips for the Water Lover

Day Trips for the Water Lover

The real question is, what can’t you do in Wyoming? Whether you’re looking to spend time on the water, entertain your children, boost your adrenaline, or learn about the rich history of the region, Wyoming has an activity for everyone. Family-owned since 1979 and located just 12 scenic miles south of Jackson Hole, Snake River Cabins & RV Village is your riverside outpost to adventure. While there is more to do locally than we can fit into a blog post, one of our favorite summer activities is to spend time on the water.

On The Snake River

Snake River Cabins is conveniently located on, well you guessed it, the Snake River. But looking at the river isn’t as splashtastic as actually being on the river. Dip your toes into the freshwater of the Snake River by signing up for a whitewater rafting or scenic trip with our sister company, Dave Hansen Whitewater and Scenic River Trips. Whether you’re looking to get soaked on the Big Kahuna rapid or take in the scenery of the Tetons from Wilson to South Park, let Dave Hansen take care of all your river needs. After cooling off on the river, treat yourself and your family to a day of refuge and relaxation beside the Snake River at Astoria Hot Springs, a variety of man-made soaking pools filled with natural thermal waters that are controlled at a variety of temperatures. Let your children play in the small tot-lot, a playground that includes a see-saw as a throwback to the historical Astoria, enjoy a picnic on the nearby lawn  and explore the springs by soaking in the leisure bool, meadow pool, river soaking pools, or children’s pool. All within a quick drive from Snake River Cabins, there are many ways to warm up or cool down in Wyoming’s refreshing and natural water.

In Grand Teton National Park

Jackson Lake is one of Wyoming’s largest and most beautiful natural pools of water, situated at the base of the mountains in the northwest corner of Grand Teton National Park. This 15-mile long lake is a recreationalists, photographers, and outdoor enthusiasts dream. Camp, rent a boat, fish, hang out on the shore and dine at the lake’s nearby lodges.
