Regardless of the season, you might encounter a cold day in Jackson Hole. While the sun is strong and bad weather rarely lasts for long, there are plenty of ways to stay busy and warm on a cold day.
Sit by a warm fire
Did you know that Snake River Cabins & RV Village has both community campfire rings and propane fire rings? Treat yourself to a coffee or hot chocolate from the main lodge and cozy up in an Adirondack chair beside one of our many outdoor fire options. And have no fear, we have heaps of marshmallows to share!
Visit Astoria Hot Springs
Just down the street from Snake River Cabins is Astoria Hot Springs, an outdoor commercial hot spring facility loved by locals and visitors alike! Astoria features 5 different man-made soaking pools filled with natural thermal waters, which are controlled at different temperatures in each pool. Situated within Astoria Park and along the banks of the Snake River, Astoria Hot Springs is one of Jackson Hole’s most unique outdoor experiences and family-friendly activities.
Explore Jackson Hole’s Art Galleries
Jackson Hole is just as much of an art hub as it is an outdoor one. Tour the town square an step into one of of Jackson’s many art galleries for visual inspiration and an escape from nature’s elements. Be sure to drive north of town to visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art, the nation’s only museum dedicated solely to wildlife art, representing wild animals from around the world.
Soothe Sore Muscles at a Yoga Studio
One of our favorite cold day activities is to stretch and sweat at a warm yoga class. Whether you are looking for a meditative ying yang, restorative flow, or hot 60 class, yoga is the perfect way to both stay warm and treat your body on a chilly day.
